Dreaming a meaning
The last 2 nights (or mornings, really) I have had disturbing dreams. My alarm always goes off at 5am, and this week I have had to snooze until 5:40... because I am dirt tired. Well, yesterday I turned off my alarm at 5:40 and fell back asleep for 20 minutes. During that time I dreamed about someone who has not penetrated my dreams in quite some time. This person used to haunt my every thought, but God has really helped me to focus and meditate upon Him. I can't even describe the dream, but I woke up feeling icky.
This morning, Charlotte woke up at 4, and to my surprise she fell back asleep in my bed with me. As I fell back asleep, I had another dream about the same person. This dream was extremely vivid, unlike the one before. I was standing in a house which belonged to me, and the entire interior was destroyed by the person who I dreamed about the night before. He was accompanied by another person who used to haunt my dreams as well; they both destroyed my house. There was no more furniture, and the walls were a hideous, ugly shade of pink which had blue graffiti all over them. It looked like an abandoned house that someone had used to throw a giant party.
And then all the sudden I was outside, and a girl I used to know approached me and said, "what did he do to your house?" She was implying that he had wrecked her things and her house as well. So I walked her over to my house, and when we got inside, it was completely new. It had been painted over with white paint, and the only evidence from the prior damage, was on the surface structure. You could almost see an imprint of what had been graffitied on the walls, but it was almost completely gone by the covering of the white paint.
Some other stuff happened after that, which made my thoughts linger this morning, but the reason why I'm blogging it is because there is a deeper meaning here. I believe the house represents myself. This person very nearly destroyed everything in me. But now, I am clean and sanctified. There are still scars from my past, but God is helping me to move further and further away from my past, and closer to him.
